GatorWorld enjoyed celebrating platelet appreciation with OneBlood and some of the most prolific donors donating platelets, on Saturday at the OneBlood Ocala Donor Center. Many of the donors have given gallons of blood in their lifetime.
Platelets are vital for hospital patients, many of them fighting cancer. Platelets are a vital blood product that has to be transfused into a patient within 5 days. Find out more by clicking HERE. Blood donor who give platelets are blood donors of a higher calling, many spend 2 hours at a time having their platelets removed from their bloodstream.
